Monet

Claude Monet is one of the most influential artists of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Painting actively for more than sixty years in defiance of traditional painting techniques, Monet captured the essence of light and color on his canvases. With his increasingly bold use of brushwork, Monet is rightly remembered as the leading light in the Impressionist movement. His work paved the way for a number of later artistic approaches and is considered to be the foundation for modern art.
